12 Days of Christmas: Day 3 Candy Cane

So we are on to day 3, which is Candy Canes. I am posting this sooo late, I meant to paint my nails last night and well yea that didn't happen, and then I decided to lagggg ass when I got off work today, soooo yeaaa :/  But hey its better late then never huh?!?!?!?!? Fair warning... this is going to be picture heavy :D

I knew from the start that I definitely wanted to use the traditional red and green that are on some candy canes :) and that I wanted to paint an actual candy cane... just didn't know the actual look I was going for. I think what I came up with turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself....HAHA!!!

I have a love/hate relationship with stripping tape..... I love how it looks but its a bitch to work with sometimes!!!! And I am tired and it was frustrating me :( But in the end I know it was worth it because I am really loving these!!!! I decided to hand paint on some tiny candy canes on my middle finger since I don't have any Christmas stamps in my collection yet.. Booooooo!!!! :)

Colors used are
  • Sinful Colors Snow Me White
  • Sinful Colors San Francisco
  • China Glaze Ruby Pumps
  • A England Morgan Le Fay
  • Lush Lacquers Ho Ho Holidays
  • LA Colors Art Deco White
  • Shades of the Season Green Glitter (got it last year at CVS around Christmas)

Even though its late, I had fun with this mani (well mostly anyway haha)!!! I hope everyone is enjoying this challenge as much as I am!!! Also be sure to check out the lovely girls who created this challenge for us,  Kristine @ Pink & Polished and Lorene @ Over Polished Nails!!!!!

XOXO....Liz :)

    1. Aww Thank you!!! I practiced on a nail wheel first, used a paint brush with a skinny short brush for the candy canes and the striping nail polish for the stripes :)
